Fifteen clean energy companies from New York and around the country are presenting their business plans at the New Energy Symposium being held today and Thursday in New York City.
The event is being held at the New York Academy of Sciences and is being presented by New Energy New York, a consortium of energy-related companies and organizations, and the Energy and Environmental Technology Application Center, which is located at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE) at the University at Albany.
New Energy New York is headquartered at CNSE. Its founding companies include GE Global Research, MTI MicroFuel Cells, Plug Power and SuperPower.
Two companies from the region are participating: Paper Battery Co. and ThermoAura Inc., both based in Troy.
The New Energy Symposium is in its seventh year. To date, 58 early-stage companies have raised more than $160 million in venture capital and government funding at the event.
