ALBANY -- A group of students from Syracuse University won the New York State Business Plan competition held Thursday at the University at Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.
The SU students run a company called Helios that has developed an ultraviolet engineering technology used to sterilize medical tools and equipment.
The students won the $40,000 grand prize and $10,000 for winning the health care track of the competition.
The prizes, which totaled $100,000, were provided by SEFCU.
