ALBANY, N.Y. -- Nearly 500 children descended on the Empire State Plaza to learn about energy and conservation at the Eco Show.
The free two-day event teaches kids how to protect the environment through recycling, energy conservation, pollution control and more.
Diana Martin of the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering said, "We see education and getting local students integrated into the schools is very important, it's one of our main thrusts at the school."
Organizers are expecting between 5,000 and 10,000 people to attend this year, with hopes of growth next year.
Visitors are encouraged to bring their old hand-held electronics and laptops to the event for free recycling.
