TPR Names New Torrey Pines Fellow

1 July 2007: Rochester, NY: Torrey Pines Research (TPR) announces that Dr. Joel Kubby, Ph.D. of the University of California at Santa Cruz has joined TPR as a Torrey Pines Fellow.

Dr. Kubby specializes in Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) used in advanced products and technologies.  Dr. Kubby had an 18-year career in research and management with Xerox Corporation where he applied MEMS technology for direct-marking printing applications.  He is currently a tenured faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of California at Santa Cruz where he is applying direct-marking technology for printing of MEMS devices.  He is an expert in MEMS design, modeling, fabrication and testing and has over 70 US patents in the area of MEMS technology.  He is also a registered patent agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
