The nanotech experts of tomorrow will most likely be found right in our backyard.
About 300 middle and high schoolers from throughout Tech Valley came to check out the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering for NanoCareer Day.
To say the students had a hands-on experience is an understatement. Kids got advice on career opportunities, a tour of the facility, and they watched as well as participated in demonstrations about the field.
Eighth grader Peter Best-Hall said, "It's interesting. I've never been to something like this. I mean, kind of like sci-fi sort of thing."
Teachers and professors say it's always best to hook kids on math and science at an early age.
The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering is ranked by Small Times magazine as the number one school for nanotechnology in the nation.
