U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer will be at Albany NanoTech on Monday, Oct. 30, to outline what he said will be an initiative to promote math and science education.
The "Math for America" program will be important for not only the Tech Valley region around Albany, N.Y., but for the rest of the country as well, Schumer's office said.
Schumer said his program will focus on improving how the best math and science teachers are recruited. The program will also increase the training and retention of teachers.
Schumer's office said Tech Valley business leaders and local educators will also attend his announcement Monday.
