$1.9M State Grant To Fund UAlbany Energy Research

ALBANY -- The state has given the University at Albany more than $1.9 million for an energy farm to test and help commercialize renewable energy technologies, such as fuel cells, solar panels and ultracapacitors.

The money comes from the state Office of Science, Technology and Academic Research's Center for Advanced Technology Development Program.

UAlbany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering is working with area companies such as Halfmoon solar power company DayStar Technologies Inc., Latham fuel cell maker Plug Plower Inc., Ballston Spa power electronics developer MTech Laboratories LLC, and Oneonta ultracapacitor maker Custom Electronics Inc.
