  2. CNSE CMOST NANOvember Family Day

    CNSE CMOST will open its doors at no cost during this event that will give attendees an exciting hands-on adventure into the world of nanotechnology. Families will be able to experience nanotechnology exhibits and other hands-on activities, including the reading of a science-focused story followed by the chance for visitors to explore concepts related to size by using a tiny ruler and scented balloons. Children will also be able to engage in activities that showcase nature-inspired applications of nanotechnology.
  3. Nano Night with the Utica Comets

    Thousands of Utica Comets fans will learn about nanotechnology’s growing regional and statewide impact through displays, videos, and presentations. A number of game attendees will also be able to take home a nano-inspired puck.
  4. AVS Student Career Fair

    SUNY Polytechnic Institute in conjunction with the CNSE student chapter of the American Vacuum Society will host a student career fair featuring information about career and internship opportunities in the STEM field from several local and national high-tech companies.  The fair is open to undergraduate and graduate students from colleges and universities in the Capital Region and surrounding area.

  5. iClean Annual Meeting

    iCLEAN and the Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at SUNY Polytechnic Institute will host their annual meeting where members of the public are invited to hear an overview of the incubator services provided by iCLEAN, enjoy an interactive panel discussion, and hear pitches from each of the current member companies of the iCLEAN incubator. Participants will be invited to a networking reception following the conclusion of the company presentations.
  6. Community Day

    The Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering at SUNY Polytechnic Institute will host its annual Community Day on Saturday, November 1. Community Day will offer guests a unique opportunity to receive a firsthand look at CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex, which is the most advanced research enterprise of its kind at any university in the world: an ever-expanding $20 billion, 1.3 million-square-foot megaplex that attracts corporate partners from around the world and offers students a one-of-a-kind educational experience.

    Both adults and children will have the chance to interact with CNSE faculty, students and staff, and to participate in a variety of activities that promote a greater understanding of nanotechnology, including

    • Tours of NanoFab Xtension's (NFX) cutting-edge 450mm cleanroom facilities
    • Tours of Tech Valley High School
    • Hands-on polymer experiments
    • Cleanroom gowning demonstrations
    • Kid's Corner featuring child-friendly activities relating to nanotechnology
    • Nanotechnology overview presentations
    • Undergraduate and Graduate information sessions
    • Displays showcasing research in CNSE's constellations, including health care and energy
    Additionally, Community Day events will be held concurrently at SUNY Polytechnic Institute's Computer Chip Commercialization Center (Quad-C) in Utica, part of Governor Cuomo’s ‘Nano Utica’ initiative, and CNSE's Smart System Technology and Commercialization Center of Excellence (STC) in Rochester.

  7. Girl Scouts Nano Discovery Day

    CNSE will partner with the Girl Scouts to introduce young girls to the inspiring world of nanotechnology. After completing a number of hands-on, nanoscale science-based activities, the Girl Scouts will be awarded patches for their participation.

    SUNY Polytechnic Institute's CEO and Officer in Charge Dr. Alain Kaloyeros will discuss the emergence of nanotechnology, its growing impact on all facets of society, and the growing global leadership of SUNY Poly and New York State in the science that is “leading to the next Industrial Revolution.”
