Accelerating the commercialization of clean energy technology in New York
NEXUS-NY (New Energy Xcelerator of Upstate New York) is one of three newly created and NYSERDA-funded Proof-of-Concept Centers charged with accelerating the growth and commercialization of clean energy technologies developed throughout New York.
NEXUS-NY serves the entire upstate New York region, including the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany and Binghamton/Ithaca areas.
On Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 3:30 – 5:00 pm at iCLEAN, NEXUS-NY executive director Doug Buerkle will describe how the new program works with and benefits both university-based and independent researchers and others interested in the commercial potential of their clean energy technologies.
Buerkle will discuss the highlights of the NEXUS-NY program, which offers:
- An average of $50,000 support per early-stage technology team
- Enrollment in a 12-week immersion course on "lean startup" methodology modeled after the National Science Foundation iCorps
- Access to mentors and advisors experienced in technology and business development
- Assistance in prototype development
