UAlbany NanoCollege Celebrates 15 Graduates As Part Of Record Total In 2009

(Nanowerk News) The College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering ("CNSE") hosted a reception on Sunday, December 6 to celebrate the achievements of 15 students who received their diplomas at the University at Albany Graduate Commencement ceremony earlier in the day.
Together with nine students who were awarded degrees in May, the total of 24 CNSE students who received graduate degrees during 2009 represents the largest number of graduates since the first class was admitted at CNSE in September 2004.
Graduating students included: Philip Rogers, Ph.D. (Nanoengineering); Bruce Altemus, Ph.D. (Nanobioscience); Daniel Pesántez, Ph.D. (Nanobioscience); Vasiliki Tileli, Ph.D. (Nanoscience); Mohamed Samir Hanssen, M.S. (Nanoengineering); Abraham Hmiel, M.S. (Nanoscience); Nirag Kadakia, M.S. (Nanoscience); Adam Lyons, M.S. (Nanoengineering); Chimaobi Mbanaso, M.S. (Nanoengineering); Anh Viet Nguyen, M.S. (Nanoengineering); Ananthan Raghunathan, M.S. (Nanoengineering); Zachary Robinson, M.S. (Nanoengineering); Charles Settens, M.S. (Nanoscience); Ruud van den Boom, M.S. (Nanoscience); and Tianhua Yu, M.S. (Nanoengineering).
Students and their families gathered with faculty and staff in the NanoFab South Rotunda to congratulate the graduates and enjoy refreshments.
