Good To See Global Firm Moving To Watervliet

I was heartened by the announcement that Vistec Lithography, a leading international high-tech company, will move its global headquarters, sales and business office, manufacturing and research and development operations to the Watervliet Arsenal and the University at Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.

This is a first for the Capital Region and Tech Valley; locating a global technology leader and its entire company to our area.

What a wonderful validation of our region's growing high-tech initiative.

Congratulations to the state Assembly, Speaker Sheldon Silver and Assemblyman Ron Canestrari for their foresight and investment; to Tony Gaetano and the Arsenal Business & Technology Partnership for taking another step forward in their critical privatization effort; and to Alain Kaloyeros for building a nanotechnology research center that is the envy of the world.

How nice and appropriate it would have been to see this story splashed across the front page.
