University Conference on Glass Science
will be hosted at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) August 3-5, 2011. This is a series of conferences on Glass Science held every other year, hosted in turn by four universities in the USA: Alfred University, Penn State University, Missouri University of Science and Technology and RPI.
This year's conference theme is Glasses for Energy. Please see the attached brochure. Glasses play important roles in energy fields: in energy production (solar energy), energy saving (smart windows), energy storage (high energy capacitors), as well as in nuclear waste management (nuclear waste glasses). The conference will provide a venue to discuss various glass properties related to energy.
Traditionally, the conference attracts ~ 100 scientists and engineers from both industry and academia from all over the world. Scientists and engineers are encouraged to submit abstracts on their topic of interest by April 30, following the instructions provided in the attached document. The papers presented will be published in the .
