ABOUT: As part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the New York State Depart-ment of Labor was awarded a $1.1 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to gather and disseminate green labor market information. The New York State Department of Labor, partnering with the Energy and Environmental Technology Applications Center (E2TAC) at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering invite you to participate in a panel session to discuss the research findings from the green jobs survey. The Department of Labor, E2TAC, CUNY and Stony Brook in the fall of 2010 have successfully surveyed about 20,000 firms to col-lect information identifying new and emerging green jobs and enhanced skills needed for green jobs. We have also identified existing education and training resources to fill those needs.
This valuable information goes hand in hand with New York State's commitment to maximizing growth in its clean energy sector per the Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard; the Renewable Portfolio Standards; the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative; and the State Energy Plan.
