Showcasing Governor Andrew Cuomo's high-tech economic growth and job creation strategy across New York State, CNSE hosted its Community Day at CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex, the Computer Chip Commercialization Center (Quad-C) near Utica and CNSE's Smart System Technology and Commercialization Center of Excellence (STC) near Rochester.

CNSE gave people of all ages from the Capital Region and beyond the chance to receive an up-close look at the exciting world of nanotechnology. Guests experienced hands-on activities, engaging demonstrations, timely presentations, and guided tours. Attendees saw how CNSE and New York State have emerged as the epicenter for the nanotechnology-driven society of the 21st century!

CNSE Community Day

This year, at CNSE's Albany NanoTech Complex, CNSE Community Day attendees had the unique opportunity to tour NanoFab Xtension, CNSE's most recent expansion which houses the world’s first Global 450mm Consortium, adds nearly 500,000 square feet of next-generation infrastructure, and an additional 60,000 square feet of Class 1 capable cleanrooms.

In addition to getting an up-close look at CNSE's ever-expanding 1.3 million-square-foot megaplex, both adults and children had the opportunity to interact with CNSE students, faculty and staff, and to participate in a variety of activities that promote a greater understanding of nanotechnology, including:
