Governor Cuomo Announces SEMATECH and IBM to Join NY-PEMC
Governor Andrew Cuomo was in Rochester on Wednesday, July 16 to announce that the state is partnering with more than 100 private companies, led by SEMATECH and IBM, to launch the New York Power Electronics Manufacturing Consortium (NY-PEMC). The consortium will invest over $500 million and create thousands of high-paying jobs, including 500 in the Rochester area. NY-PEMC will be managed through the newly merged SUNY CNSE/SUNYIT and will develop the next generation of power electronics.
