ALBANY, N.Y. -- Many of the experiments happening behind the scenes in labs at Albany's College of Nanoscale Science and Technology (CNSE) are hard to explain. That's also the case of Hocus Locus, LLC, which occupies a lab there.
Hocus Locus is a life sciences company that was founded about three years ago by Ted Eveleth and his partner, Scott Tenenbaum in the labs at CNSE.
Eveleth explained what they do as exploiting a novel regulatory mechanism in which one RNA sequence changes the structure of another RNA sequence.
In layman's terms, Hocus Locus is developing tools and technology that allow them to manipulate RNA cells to create a certain type of protein.
