Buffalo Business First: Albany Molecular set to start in Buffalo
Buffalo Business First
Senior researchers and support staff for Albany Molecular Research Inc. will be setting up shop in Buffalo in the next week or two, said Alain Kaloyeros, chief executive of the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.
The company’s initial footprint will be limited to 10-20 people while they’re at temporary space in the Jacobs Institute, housed on the fifth floor of the new $291 million University at Buffalo/Kaleida Health building on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
Their work will involve existing projects for the Albany-based pharmaceutical company. The company has also been retained by a yet-unnamed pharmaceutical company to “do some exciting work” said Kaloyeros, who’s overseeing the project on behalf of Gov. Andrew Cuomo.
“This is something the governor’s pushed for in the last couple of months to make sure it’s happening, because there are exciting opportunities and work to be done at AMRI,” Kaloyeros said.
