Times Union: A nano model ripe for 'export'

The reach of the SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering in Albany may soon stretch from the Hudson River to Niagara Falls.
The NanoCollege is asking developers in the greater Buffalo area to
come up with ideas for a high-tech research, training and manufacturing
center, similar to one it is seeking to create in Syracuse.
The Buffalo plan appears to reveal just how aggressively Gov. Andrew Cuomo
is planning to "export" the NanoCollege and its economic development
model to other parts of the state. The strategy complements Cuomo's
newly launched Start-Up NY program that essentially makes SUNY
properties tax-free zones for early-stage start-up companies and
high-tech businesses lured from out of state.
