Nano for Kids
One of the nation's formidable problems is a looming shortage of scientific and engineering personnel. Semiconductor companies worldwide are facing a critical shortage of technically trained employees. This shortage is expected to continue for the foreseeable future despite the cyclical history of the industry.

In response, SUNY Poly conducts multi-level programs that encourage science awareness in grades K-12 to help ensure the U.S. science and technology workforce of the future.

NanoCareer Day

NanoCareer Day introduces middle- and high-school students to the exciting world of nanotechnology through tours, presentations and hands-on activities.


NanoHigh, developed jointly by the City School District of Albany (CSDA) and SUNY Poly, offers students an unprecedented opportunity to study the emerging field of nanotechnology through two courses that combine classroom learning at Albany High School with monthly on-site visits to SUNY Poly's Albany NanoTech Complex for in-depth lab activities.

NanoEducation Summit

SUNY Poly holds NanoEducation Summits for school superintendents, administrators and teachers, with discussions focusing on ways to implement nanotechnology awareness and learning at the middle and high-school level.

Regional Collaboration

SUNY Poly partners with a variety of regional organizations to promote nanotechnology awareness among teachers, students and parents.

SUNY Poly hosts a variety of school groups throughout the year - from administrators and faculty to students and their parents.
