Field Coordinator (Tool Hook-up) - Albany
This position is responsible for the field coordination of on-site tool hook-up programs. Duties to include but not be limited to the following:
Monitoring all tool hook-up activities at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE). Act as CNSE representative in the field to all design/build suppliers for tool hook-up. Interface with CNSE management and engineering staff as needed in order to provide direction to tool hook-up programs and inform construction managers/designers, etc. on issues that arise in the field. Review new construction drawings and tool hook-up P&ID's to insure an understanding of the scope of work. Participate in consultant design reviews and comment on constructability of designs and lessons learned from previous projects. Understand schedule requirements and monitor hook-up efforts to insure design documents are followed and projects are progressing per schedule.
Prepare work permits or assist construction manager in permit preparation. Correspond with Tool Hook-up Program Manager to insure all processes are on time and effective. Interface with supplier, project manager, tenant representative and CNSE managers. Strive to minimize shut downs through exhaust false loads and future capacity on VMB’s, and extra POC’s. Work with peers and tenants to minimize duration and frequency of hook-up related shutdowns or tool idles. Strive for zero tool interruptions due to hook-up work and investigate any incident(s) for root cause and preventative action plans.
Review hook-up detailed schedules and insure tenants needs are met. Determine if proposed work has shutdowns, oversee work in field to insure contractors are aware of all potential dangers that would have potential to impact tenants and/or tooling. Co-ordinate with EHS department for full compliance to published procedures and policies. Investigate any impacts for root cause and implement action plans to correct. Drive tenants and CNSE Equipment Engineer(s) to provide tool plans, cut sheets, and on-dock dates. Insure construction manager updates and maintains utility matrix and POC matrix for all buildings.
Ensure that all contractors follow the CNSE Site Health and Safety procedures including wearing appropriate approved PPE, using required tie-offs, and following LOTO procedures. Work with contractors to improve their awareness of CNSE Contractor Guide documents.
Review completed efforts of suppliers for compliance with designs and specs as well as functionality, fit and finish. Prepare punchlist of completed work and drive tool hook-up suppliers to correct. Other program administration duties as assigned
Associate of Applied Science from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or other internationally recognized accrediting organization OR equivalent ten (10) years of work experience.
AND Minimum of 5-7 years experience as a field coordinator or construction supervisor in the facilities engineering organization of a major semiconductor manufacturer or with a supplier to the semiconductor industry. Candidates must address in their applications their abilities to work with a culturally diverse population.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background investigation; this position may require annual background investigations.
Experience in 300mm tool installation also desired.
