Utica - Student and Research Partners Innovative Programs and Activities Coordinator
The Student and Research Partners Innovative Programs and Activities Coordinator works closely with students and members of the college, research and corporate partner and tenant community to enhance the quality of campus life through new and relevant programming initiatives that involve both students and corporate partners. The successful candidate may also provide opportunities for student leadership, civic engagement and community service along with creating opportunities for students to participate in activities and initiatives with the SUNY Polytechnic Institute’s (SUNY Poly) corporate partners and tenants
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop, promote, coordinate, and assess programming and activities to enhance student involvement at SUNY Poly including innovative programming involving the numerous affiliated corporate partners and tenants representing a robust research and professional community. Additionally, the individual will organize a number of activities/programs that includes participation from both campuses. The successful candidate will also assist in training and advising student leaders.
The Coordinator of Student Activities will directly advise the After Hours Activity Board (student programming board) and assist student clubs and organizations. The qualified candidate will also be directly involved in the college’s First Year Seminar program.
The Coordinator will report to the Director of Campus Life and will have other duties as assigned to enhance campus life and activities.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field from a college or university accredited by the US Dept of Education or other internationally recognized accrediting organization. Experience in student activities, student leadership development, program and networking development, orientation and/or event planning. Required abilities include strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills; sensitivity to students and demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Must be able to accommodate a flexible schedule which will regularly involve evening and weekend commitments as well as occasional travel to Albany.

Master’s degree in Student Affairs/Student Services or related field preferred.
